Job TitleMechanical Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionPerforms mechanical maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a variety of gasoline-and diesel-powered heavy construction equipment such as cranes, wheel-and crawler-type tractors, drilling machines, compressors, and stationary engines.Completes both minor and major repairs in accordance with approved work orders, diagnosing trouble to the extent necessary to satisfactorily complete repairs.Installs new engines. Overhauls and repairs engines and completes assemblies such as transmissions, differentials, transfer cases, clutches, track links, fuel injection pump housings, and cylinder blocks.Repairs and adjusts brakes, ignition, and fuel systems.Performs mechanical maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a variety of launches and towboats.Performs mechanical maintenance, overhaul, and repair of various makes, types, and sizes of passenger cars and trucks.Performs various tasks incident to cleaning tools, storing them in proper places, and in the general maintenance of good housekeeping conditions in the shop area.
