Program Support Assistant

These positions are located within the Medicine Service at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. The Program Support Assistant performs a variety of administrative duties which support the work of the Chief, Medicine Service, Administrative Officer and Subspecialty clinics in Medicine Service. In order to qualify for this position at the GS-6 level, you must meet the following requirement: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; preparing various documents such as memorandums and reports; utilizing various computer software; maintaining calendars, scheduling and arranging meetings; and communicating with a variety of people from different backgrounds and different levels of understanding. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
