The Role We’re looking for a Senior Risk Analytics Lead to join our Risk team and strengthen our decision‑making foundation across products and operations. In this role, you’ll bridge data analytics, policy design, and front‑line investigations—helping shape how Public measures and manages risk across equities, options, bonds, treasuries, crypto, and etc. You’ll run analyses using SQL or Python to identify patterns, develop forecasting models, and design new risk frameworks. You’ll also roll up your sleeves to support 1st‑line investigations and operational risk escalations, providing fast, data‑driven decisions that balance growth and protection. We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, curious, and comfortable working across analytics, policy, and operations—someone who can write SQL in the morning, investigate a risk event at lunch, and draft a new control policy by the afternoon. This role is onsite based out of our New York City office. What You’ll Do Design and implement scalable risk frameworks and policies for money movement, trading, operations, and new products. Run hands‑on analytics using SQL or Python to assess exposures, forecast risk trends, and evaluate policy impact. Partner with stakeholders across Risk Ops, CX, Data, Product, and Engineering to investigate and resolve 1LOD risk incidents. Build dashboards and metrics to monitor key risk indicators and emerging threats across asset classes. Analyze customer behavior, transaction patterns, and platform data to detect anomalies and take quick action to prevent potential losses. Lead deep‑diving investigations, document findings, and propose remediation and control improvements. Translate analytics and investigations into actionable insights and risk recommendations for senior leadership. Collaborate with data, product and engineering teams to improve data models and pipelines supporting risk reporting. Who You Are 3–5 years of experience in risk analytics, fintech risk, or a related data‑driven risk role. Advanced SQL skills (required) and experience querying large, complex data sets. Python or another scripting language for data analysis (preferred). Experience supporting front‑line risk operations or investigations (1LOD). Ability to design and implement risk frameworks or decisioning models. Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills with a bias toward action. Excellent communicator—able to simplify complex analytics for cross‑functional teams. Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment. Experience in ACH payments, high‑growth fintech, broker‑dealer, or trading platform environments is a plus.
