Dental Hygienist

The Orange County Health Department has an opening for a Full-time Dental Hygienist. This is a 40 hour a week position. An employee of this classification is responsible for providing clinical oral hygiene care and preventive services, and develops and conducts dental health education programs. This distinct classification requires a license to practice as a dental hygienist. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Dentist with considerable leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding needs and requests. Supervision or leading others may be a responsibility of this class depending on the assignment. Does related work as required.
