Job Title: ED RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years required License: Active RN state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Previous charge experience is required. Experience in a community hospital setting is required. Description: The ED RN will work in a fast-paced emergency department. The position requires rotating night and evening shifts. The primary contracted shift will be night shift. Travelers are welcomed, with first-time travelers accepted. The nurse will care for patients across all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics. A typical patient ratio is 1:4, which can increase to 1:5 with lower acuity. Diverse patient diagnoses will be encountered, including complex cases. Weekends will be required, with every other weekend expected. Scheduled holidays will also be required. Floating within the specialty and potentially to sister facilities may occur as needed. Pre-scheduled on-call shifts are not required. Candidates should possess strong skills in various emergency care scenarios. Experience with charting systems, specifically Epic, is important. The role may include managing ventilated patients and administering emergency medications. The nurse must be skilled in triage, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and managing behavioral health conditions. Proficiency in phlebotomy and obtaining 12-lead EKGs is necessary. Emergency services will include support from interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic setting.
