Role Description The Loan Officer role at HomeTown Lending is a hybrid position based in Addison, TX, with flexibility for partial work from home. In this role, the Loan Officer consults with prospective and existing borrowers, evaluates their financial profiles, and recommends appropriate loan products. Day-to-day responsibilities include taking loan applications, gathering and reviewing documentation, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring files meet regulatory and company guidelines. The Loan Officer communicates regularly with clients, real estate partners, and internal teams to provide status updates, address questions, and support a smooth closing process. This role also involves generating new business through networking and referral relationships, while maintaining accurate records and adhering to compliance standards. Qualifications Experience in Loan Officer or similar lending roles, with a strong understanding of mortgage loan processes. Knowledge of finance principles, including income analysis, credit evaluation, and debt-to-income calculations. Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and documentation requirements to support accurate and compliant loan files. Customer service skills, including clear communication, responsiveness, and the ability to build trust with borrowers. Loan origination skills, including prospecting, application intake, and pipeline management. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines. Proficiency with loan origination systems and common office software tools. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
