Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to step into the role of Technical Competency Lead of Technical Development. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Technical Competency team while championing the technical growth and development of our plant and field teams across NORAM, ensuring they are empowered with the skills and knowledge needed to drive and achieve business objectives. You will be instrumental in driving team development, facilitating on-the-job training, and implementing impactful technical training programs. Additionally, you will ensure long-term team resilience through strategic succession planning while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong people leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities, and proven technical acumen gained from experience in field, plant, or similar operational roles. Key Characteristics Able to deliver comprehensive technical training programs in conjunction with the Plant Manager or Field Service Manager to enhance the skills and knowledge of plant and field staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet customer needs safely, promote a positive customer experience and repeat sales. Comfortable in the development and implementation of on-the-job training opportunities to decrease time to competence for technical staff. Overall improve onboarding experience when it comes to trainings Support all technical training programs such as StrongStart, Basic Services Course, Plant Manager training, etc. in all ways possible Monitor, report, and steward technical training KPIs and metrics; serve on Root-Cause-Analysis teams when required, and take proactive measures to address any gaps in competency. Drives the achievement of team objectives by supporting the technical competency team members through training and ensuring consistent execution across their respective regions. Demonstrates a passion for developing others by providing regular coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to help team members reach their full potential. Communicates with clarity, transparency, and purpose, ensuring the team is aligned, informed, and motivated to achieve shared goals. Duties & Responsibilities Align learning experiences to existing competency maps for all technical roles. Develop and deploy learning experiences in conjunction with the technical learning team to drive technical competency growth and ensure technical competency assurance Work with stakeholders to review and recommend improvements to existing competency maps. Serve as subject matter expert in the development of new competencies and competency maps, job task analysis, and training needs analysis. Stay updated with industry best practices, technology advancements, and market trends to drive innovation and improve field operations ie: wastewater, PFAS, etc. Collaborate with Regional leadership to develop regional training/competency strategy and succession planning Evaluate effectiveness of learning experiences in terms of modality, curricula, instructional materials, and instructor effectiveness. Conduct site and regional assessments of Competency Program implementation. Develop and execute all facets of change management plans including communications plans, resistance plans, and training plans. collaborate closely with EHS regional managers to optimize training attendance Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Deep knowledge in multiple Veolia technologies and processes People management/leadership skills Prior experience teaching or mentoring technical skills Superior presentation skills Strong collaboration and planning skill Strong leadership abilities with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Motivated individual with proven self-starting capabilities to create innovative solutions Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of field experience. Proficient in using technology and software applications related to field operations. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.
