Registration Coordinator

Overview Responsible for registration of patients, verification of insurance benefits, pre certifications and verification of demographic information. Essential staff are expected to report to work during inclement weather. Responsibilities Responsibilities will also include payment collection and posting, and financialassistanceapplicationsas needed. Qualifications Qualifications Bilingual skills preferred.High School diploma or GED required. Able to work weekends, holidays and shift rotations as needed. The following, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to performtheessential functions of this position: Education/formal training/licenser/certification/experience High school graduate (or equivalent).Understanding of medical terminology.Twoyears’ experiencein a medical related field preferred. Additional Skills Strong verbal communication skills.Effectivelyableto manage multiple tasks in an organizedmanner. Must be able to type 35wpm and be computer literate.The candidate/employee must be committedto excellent customer service when dealing with all types of patients, internal and external. Working Conditions/Physical Demand Primary office environment/workstation.Potential exposure to communicable disease. Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist. Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and the spine Standing,walkingand sitting for extended periods of time Medium physical effort isrequiredinlifting upto 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sound by ear. Acuity, Far: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
