A Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is a trained human services professional responsible for assessing, planning, and monitoring care for individuals with intellectuals and developmental disabilities. They assess client needs through interviews, medical histories, and family consultations, develop person-centered plans, set achievable goals, monitor daily activities, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure quality care and progress for each individual.

We currently have an immediate need for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) at one of our residential facilities. The QIDP position utilizes an Interdisciplinary Team approach, develop implementation strategies which outline services and supports for individuals so they may work toward the outcomes detailed in their Personal Plans. QIDPs coordinate between agency, community, and state goals and regulations.
The QIDP must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Human Services field, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Speech Language Pathologist, Special Education, RN or other related field is required. Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in supervising and managing a wide range of professional and paraprofessional staff. Prior supervisory experience in Developmental Disabilities field or closely related field preferred. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques of the field of developmental disabilities/intellectual disabilities. Excellent written, oral communication & organization skills, multi-tasked, detailed orientated & strategic planning skills. Strong behavioral background required. These positions require high visibility on the floor with residential, nursing and therapy personnel. Jobs entail 24/7 shared on-call coverage responsibilities.

Successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills to communicate with the individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families, as well as with other professionals, such as social workers, therapists, teachers, and doctors. You need communication skills to listen actively, ask questions, provide feedback, explain options, resolve conflicts, and advocate for the best interests of the people you serve.
