The Merchandising Intern position is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels and immaculate displays of clothing and accessories across the Okoboji Store Bar & Kitchen, welcome customers warmly and address their queries by offering product knowledge/guidance regarding clothing and accessories, and inspect delivered products from buyers, verifying quality standards and reporting any discrepancies. The Merchandising Intern must be professional, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold Mau Marine's mission.

Mau Marine will make absolutely every aspect of the boating experience easy and enjoyable for our customers. We will do this through an expert team of marine professionals dedicated to setting the standard for excellence in customer satisfaction.

Reports to: Marina Pro Shop Manager

Key Internal Relationships: Marketing Manager, Social Media Intern, Restaurant Managers, Accounting Department

The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

• Maintain optimal stock levels and immaculate displays of clothing and accessories across the Okoboji Store Bar & Kitchen.
• Welcome customers warmly, addressing their queries and offering product knowledge and guidance regarding clothing and accessories, and proficiently handling transaction.
• Inspect delivered products from buyers, verifying quality standards and reporting any discrepancies.
• Engage with sales representatives, fostering relationships, and discussing product specifics and future collaborations.
• Assist in implementing markdowns and promotional activities, conducting analysis to determine optimal pricing strategies.
• Ensure the right products are available, in the right locations, at the right times, and in the correct quantities, aligning with pricing strategies and sales goals.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Pursuing a degree in Merchandising, Retail Management, Fashion Design, Marketing or other related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset
• Prior retail, advertising, and marketing experience is not required but a plus

Duration: May 2027 through August 2027
