Associate Director, Faculty Affairs

Department: Academic Affairs Salary: $72,265 - $88,524 Description Job Summary The Associate Director, Faculty Affairs provides leadership and operational oversight for faculty personnel administration within the Office of the Provost. The Associate Director oversees faculty employment, compensation, data management, and compliance functions while partnering with college leadership to ensure faculty operations are efficient, accurate, and aligned with institutional policies. Duties Provides oversight of faculty affairs operations in collaboration with the associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development, ensuring compliance with university policies, employment regulations, and accreditation standards. Oversees faculty hiring, appointments, reappointments, promotions, tenure actions, onboarding, and personnel actions in partnership with Human Resources and academic colleges Directs the accuracy and integrity of faculty data, personnel records, and institutional systems, including HRIS, ERP, faculty activity reporting, credentialing, rank, salary, workload, and employment history Leads faculty salary budget development, forecasting, and analysis while overseeing merit pay, overloads, stipends, summer appointments, administrative supplements, and grant-funded compensation Partners with academic departments, colleges, Human Resources, Budget, and Payroll to coordinate faculty hiring, payroll, personnel actions, and training on systems and business processes Oversees the preparation, validation, and reporting of faculty data by identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies, data errors, and compliance issues Monitors compliance with institutional compensation policies, grant requirements, labor regulations, accreditation standards, and applicable federal and state requirements Marginal Duties Develops and implements faculty affairs policies, procedures, workflows, and operational practices to improve efficiency, consistency, accountability, and internal controls Fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, exceptional customer service, and staff development while supporting strategic faculty affairs initiatives Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: Five (5) years' experience in administrative experience in higher education with involvement in faculty processes and administration License/Certification: N/A Preferred Qualifications Experience using People Soft Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Knowledge of hiring systems Knowledge of academic enterprise systems (PeopleSoft, WorkDay, Banner) Knowledge in workflow management Knowledge in project management software Skills: Proven capability to handle confidential matters with discretion Strength in balancing multiple demands and projects Strength in managing current and emerging priorities and competing deadlines Exemplary professionalism, collaboration, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills Abilities: Knowledge of automating and streamlining administrative processes Work Location and Physical Demands Primary Work Location: Works in an office environment Physical Demands: Work is performed in a typical, comfortable interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements; individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks.
