Duties must be performed in ways that maximize production efficiency./ph3Essential Functions of the Job/h3ulliResponsible for general repair, maintenance and cleaning of machinery as needed./liliInputs package quality testing results into Quality Windows program./liliOversees finished packaged items from machine and separates rejected items./liliManages machine components and settings according to product size./liliPerforms periodic inspection on machinery and mechanical equipment for accuracy of UPC code printing and label registration./liliOptimizes run-time during periods of shift rotation./liliClears jams and reports malfunctions for maintenance./liliResponsible for product size change over and tracking product flow./liliAdjusts machine controls for proper fill during production runs./liliActively communicates with maintenance all machine problems that exceed an operators ability to fix./liliCooperates with maintenance in all mechanical changes, PLC updates, and equipment installation./liliIncorporates rework into the finished product at established quality specifications as required./liliFulfills quality functions and conforms to all quality control regulations and procedures./liliCompletes record keeping and other paperwork as required./liliResponsible for general housekeeping around the production area./liliUpholds and provides safe, high-quality, consistent products, and superior services that anticipate, meet or exceed the requirements of our customers./liliComplies with General Safety Communication Program./liliPerforms other duties/tasks as assigned on an as needed basis./li/ulh3Skill Set/Experience/h3ulliMaintains a high-quality product./liliUnderstands how to read package quality specifications (die-lines, temperatures, measurements, bag height etc.)/liliBasic experience with hand tools./liliWorking knowledge of computer basics and experience with data entry./liliManufacturing experienced desired./liliObserves physical changeover of product on the machine./liliHas ability to trouble shoot minor problems on packaging machines./liliHas a novice understanding of centerline machine settings adjustments (time, pressure, temperature)./li/ulh3Physical and Mental Requirements/h3ulliBasic ability to read, write, calculate simple math, and withstand moderate amounts of stress./liliHigh degree of organizational skills required to maintain uninterrupted machine operation./liliGood analytical skills needed to plan and implement various machine operation functions./liliAbility to address complex problems and propose viable solutions./liliTo direct and train the case packer and end-line to perform essential job functions, at the behest of the supervisor or lead./liliExcellent oral and written communications skills required./li/ulh3Work Environment and Equipment/h3ulliPersonal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory./liliOperational knowledge of various coffee packing machines, printers, and metric tooling./liliThis position is inside a warehouse roasting facility that requires constant standing on concrete floors, exposed to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust and flavoring smells./li/ulh3Education/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent./li/ulh3Work Habits/h3ulliRegular attendance and promptness are a must for this job./liliThis job requires a high degree of teamwork./liliAssists new training of employees as directed./li/ulpCascade coffee is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity.
