CT Technologist Job Details

CT Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist or radiologic technologist performing computed tomography procedures
• Current ARRT(R) certification
• Current ARRT(CT) certification or advanced CT registry
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Prior experience operating GE CT equipment strongly preferred
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and professional patient care in a hospital environment

CT Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT examinations according to established protocols and physician orders
• Prepare patients for CT procedures, explain examinations, and promote comfort and safety throughout the imaging process
• Operate CT scanners effectively while maintaining diagnostic image quality and following radiation-safety standards
• Review patient histories, verify imaging orders, and assess relevant clinical information before examinations
• Administer contrast media as permitted by departmental policy and applicable credentials
• Recognize and report urgent or abnormal findings through appropriate clinical channels
• Document CT examinations accurately and maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other members of the patient care team
