Information Technology Specialist II The UIT Office of Software Licensing (OSL) negotiates, procures, and distributes software licenses to University of Utah students, faculty, and staff. The person in this position will be the initial point of contact for inquiries and service requests about OSL. Responsibilities Answering licensing questions Troubleshooting software license and installation issues Using a content management system to maintain and publish content to the OSL website Managing products and services in the online software store Customer communications Obtaining software installation files and license keys from vendors Becoming familiar with software licensing terms and conditions Advising staff, students, and faculty regarding licensing policies and procedures to ensure awareness and compliance Advising staff, students, and faculty on software license renewals to ensure continued access Coordinating technical information with campus help desk staff Assisting with maintaining department documentation Participating in team decisions for new software offerings Monitoring processes and providing recommendations for improvement Minimum Qualifications Equivalency statement: One year of higher education can be substituted for one year of directly related work experience (example: a bachelor's degree equals four years of directly related work experience). The department may hire an employee at the following job levels: Information Technology Specialists, II: Requires a bachelor's degree (or equivalency) plus four years of directly related work experience, or a master's degree (or equivalency) plus two years of directly related work experience.
