Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed observation/intermediate care unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Manage a high volume of admissions and discharges with an average patient stay of up to 48 hours
• Administer and monitor drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
• Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips and perform EKG-related assessments
• Care for patients presenting with conditions such as anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre/post-op urology and GI cases
• Float to inpatient units including IMC and CTU as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification highly preferred
• Background in observation, medical-surgical, or telemetry units preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and positive attitude in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment
