Pay: $19.00 - $21.00. We have the added advantage of sharing tips with all staff, which typically adds $1-2/hr for a full time employee depending on time of year.

There is always room for growth at Chaconne Patisserie for talented bakers with great work ethics and this rate can be reviewed after 6 months once consistent ability has been demonstrated.

The first two months are a review period in which we can both assess if the applicant is an appropriate fit for the position.

Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry, strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask and open availability. All shifts for this night baker position are 8 hr shifts. Primary responsibilities will include proofing, assembling, baking and glazing/finishing pastries; mixing, shaping baking artisan breads; executing a variety of recipes and prep tasks, maintaining cleanliness, dishwashing, and assisting customers on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow instructions from managers and sous chefs to proof, assemble, bake and finish a variety of pastries for wholesale and retail. Ensure products are fresh, attractive and stored correctly in accordance with food safety guidelines.
• Executing recipes and prep tasks: Carry out prep tasks including but not limited to portioning cookies or dough, washing and preparing fruit, preparing recipes using a scale for accuracy, making large batch recipes like loaf cakes or doughs.
• Assisting customers: If working during business hours, assist customers and conduct sales using Square terminal.
• Assist with general cleaning duties to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Everyone at CP including the owner does dishes used in their work

Qualifications :

Please read closely and please do not apply if not able to meet these qualifications. This is work in a fast-paced bakery for experienced bakers.

• 2 yr minimum experience baking or working in a commercial kitchen and at least one year experience working overnight
• Ability to lift and carry boxes of baked goods (up to 50 lbs).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must be reliable, punctual and professional.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Be someone who knows they enjoy working overnight without question
