Overnight Hospital Assistant, Janitor, or HousekeeperVCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is hiring a full time and part time Overnight hospital assistant, janitor, or housekeeper to join our team! We are seeking an individual who is positive, energetic, eager to learn, and works well on a team.VCA Shoreline is a state-of-the-art medical facility providing a range of specialty, critical care and emergency services exclusively for dogs and cats. We deliver the best medical care for pets and the best experience for pet owners.Located in Shelton, our veterinary specialists, technicians and pet-friendly support staff are trained to the highest standards. Their thorough knowledge of the latest procedures and medicines ensures that our patients receive the best in preventive and healing care.Schedule: Full time: Sunday - Wednesday 9pm - 7amPart Time, Thursday - Saturday 9pm - 5am.Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00 / hr based on skill set, and experience.Primary Responsibilities:Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the veterinary hospital, including exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, offices, and common areas.Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors daily and as needed.Empty trash and biohazard waste containers and replace liners according to hospital protocols.Clean and sanitize cages, kennels, animal holding areas, and equipment.Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, counters, tables, and waiting room furniture.Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and other facility necessities.Clean and maintain restrooms, ensuring they remain sanitary and well-stocked.Launder and properly store hospital linens, towels, blankets, and bedding.Assist with maintaining a clean and organized inventory storage area.Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.Properly handle and dispose of medical waste in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.Clean windows, glass surfaces, and entryways to maintain a professional appearance.Report maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to management.Assist veterinary staff with non-medical support tasks as needed.Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, clients, and staff.Qualifications:Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying supplies throughout the workday.Ability to work around animals in a compassionate and professional manner.Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.Ability to follow instructions and maintain established sanitation protocols.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to effectively communicate with others in a fast-paced environment.The Benefits Continue To Grow for full time assocaites:Access to the people and financial resources of a large veterinary communityGrowth & leadership opportunitiesMedical, Dental & VisionCareer development programsVeterinary Technician education tuition support and scholarshipsGenerous hospital discounts and product discountsEmployer-paid life, long- and short-term disability insurancePaid vacation and sick timePaid parental leave401(k)Free mental health resources and wellness subscriptions (Headspace)Referral bonusesInfertility benefitsCompetitive wageWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer - Veterans / Disabled.
