About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holidays worked into permanent staff schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy treatments to an inpatient population, with approximately 25–30 acuities per shift managed across an average of 2 RTs depending on census
• Operate and manage mechanical ventilators as part of patient care
• Collaborate with in-house hospitalists and intensivists, as well as on-call providers during after-hours periods
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
• Work within a 24/7 RT department, supporting both pediatric and adult patient populations
• Coordinate with pharmacy services, including after-hours on-call pharmacy support

Required Qualifications

• Active California Respiratory Therapist license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with both pediatric and adult patient populations required
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NICU experience preferred, though not required
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience working in a high-acuity inpatient respiratory therapy setting
