Overview IT Network Support Specialist (Infrastructure Support) – Location: Houston, TX (Onsite). This role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. It is ideal for a technically skilled professional with foundational networking experience who is looking to grow into more advanced infrastructure responsibilities. Responsibilities Network Monitoring & Support: Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, and network appliances. Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure system health, uptime, and performance. Support VPN connectivity and assist with secure remote access issues. Maintain network connectivity technologies, including broadband and enterprise circuits. Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve network-related incidents and service requests. Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware. Provide technical support for infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems as needed. Infrastructure & Documentation: Support enterprise cabling and connectivity, including fiber, UTP, and wireless networks. Maintain accurate network documentation and system records. Assist in implementing infrastructure updates and improvements. Project & Vendor Coordination: Support network-related projects, upgrades, and deployments. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues. Assist in evaluating new tools, technologies, and solutions. Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Follow established IT policies, procedures, and compliance standards. Conduct basic risk assessments prior to system changes. Identify opportunities to improve network performance and reliability. Qualifications Required : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience. 2 to 4 years of experience in IT support or networking. Foundational knowledge of: Network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls), LAN/WAN environments and VPN connectivity. Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred : CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar certification. Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site environments. Familiarity with network security fundamentals.
