You will have the opportunity to shape projects from start to finish while also leading and mentoring a talented team of professionals.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Supervise mid to junior level engineers on multi-disciplinary projectsResponsible for the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope.Lead technical design staff for projects including:Water conveyance/pipelines,Potable water treatment,Wastewater treatment,Water storage (steel/concrete tanks, dams)Civil site improvements (drainage, grading),Pumping stations (potable water, wastewater, stormwater), andConceptual studiesClient liaison and relationship managementPrepare documentation related to current or prospective projects, including correspondence, reports, proposals, and technical specificationsCommunicate and work with other project team members in Orange, Los Angeles, and other regional offices to provide quality service to clients on projects of varying scope and complexityLiaise with and assist other departments and offices in the provision of design services to other clients, as applicableParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesPerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawingsMinimum Requirements:BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering disciplinesSubstantial experience in detailed design with 8+ years of engineering design and project management in a consulting engineering environment delivering water/wastewater projectsP.E. LicenseSubstantial experience in detailed design with 10+ years of engineering design and project management in a consulting engineering environment delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projectsMaster's Degree in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical EngineeringProfessional Engineering License in CaliforniaExperience in Municipal Infrastructure design (water mains, sewers, etc.) is an assetFamiliarity with AutoCADFamiliarity with software for modeling water transmission/distribution systemsExperience with open channel and closed pipe hydraulic calculations, modelling and designExperience with coaching and guiding less experienced engineers in delivery of design assignmentsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently as well as team building, strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skillsProven ability to write winning proposals and obtain new workAdditional Information:Occasional site travel as needed.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
