Electrician Apprentice

Brief Description:

The Electrician Apprentice reports indirectly to the Electrical Superintendent, directly to the Electrician Journeyman and supports the Journeyman in the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of electrical systems by handling tools, testing malfunctioning equipment and identifying defects. The incumbent is responsible for completing electrical wiring tasks, alignment adjustments and calibration of equipment following manuals, schematics, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and code.

Schedule: 4 weeks ON 2 weeks OFF

• 60 hours per week

Licensing Information and Requirements:

• Apprentice License in from the state of Utah preferred OR

Essential Job Functions:

• Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and electrical codes
• Assists Journeymen with installation tasks
• Measures, cutes, and bends wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools
• Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, or Equivalent
• One (1) year electrical experience; industrial industry, preferred
• Two (2) year diploma or degree in electrical technology, preferred
• Current and valid driver's license, with clean driving record required depending on location
• Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and equipment
• Basic knowledge and experience use of power tools, electrical equipment and construction equipment.
• Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies Ability to work safely and recognize potential hazards
• Ability to prioritize work or assignments in order to complete projects on time
• Ability to communicate effectively verbal and written
• Ability to handle stress and possess positive trait even in difficult or challenging situations
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability and willingness to receive and follow direction
