Licensed Clinician II Position: Licensed Clinician II, Overnight Team – Crisis Receiving Center. Location: Chesapeake, VA – 216 Great Bridge Blvd. Department: CHES INT BEHAV HEALTHC (CIBH MENTAL HLTH SVC). Pay: Starting salary $69,737 per year plus 10% special assignment pay and 7% shift differential pay, subject to experience. Job Overview The Licensed Clinician II works as part of a 23‑hour Crisis Stabilization team providing assessment, crisis intervention, clinical determination, and supervision of staff. The role focuses on immediate behavioral health support for individuals in crisis and ensures safe discharge or admission. Responsibilities Conduct assessments to determine medical necessity and client needs during crisis episodes. Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on client strengths and resources. Facilitate crisis intervention and skills restoration to improve acute symptoms. Conduct safety planning and health literacy counseling to prevent escalation. Coordinate care transition, screening, and referrals to appropriate services and community resources. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record and submit billing information on time. Provide direct supervision to assigned staff. Perform quality assurance audits and monitor service delivery for policy adherence. Contribute to development of department processes and improvements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field, or another degree approved by the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Minimum of four years of full‑time equivalent experience in related behavioral health fields. State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Counselor (LPC). Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist MD/DO, or a bachelor’s prepared Registered Nurse (RN) with five years of experience may be considered for the Emergency Services Program. Expectation to work overtime and respond to short‑term needs or emergencies. Preferred Qualifications Prior supervisory experience. LCSW registration for clinical supervision is a plus.
