Immigration Legal Assistant

Legal Administrative Assistant - Immigration (Hybrid | Washington, DC) A well-established, Am Law 200 firm is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support a busy Immigration practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with attorneys and clients. The position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring four days per week in the office. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys within the Immigration practice. Prepare correspondence, legal documents, forms, and other client-related materials. Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, and meeting coordination. Communicate with clients regarding case status, documentation, and administrative matters. Assist with new client and matter intake, including conflict checks and file setup. Maintain and organize electronic and physical client files. Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense reports. Enter attorney time and assist with billing-related tasks. Answer and direct incoming calls and provide general administrative support. Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Provide backup support to other attorneys and team members as needed. Qualifications: 2+ years of legal administrative, legal assistant, or legal secretary experience within a law firm. Prior immigration law experience needed. Ability to support multiple attorneys and manage competing priorities. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, document management systems, and legal billing software. Professional demeanor with strong client service skills. Team-oriented mindset and willingness to assist across practice groups when needed. Salary range of approximately $65,000 - $75,000 , depending on experience.
