Job Description Summary:

A versatile P2 Software Engineer capable of supporting both development and QA, bringing strong C/C++ expertise, system-level knowledge, and modern skills such as compiler systems and AI-enhanced engineering tools.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on development experience.
• Solid understanding of database fundamentals, including:
• ACID properties
• Indexing techniques
• Query optimization & execution plans
• Transactions & concurrency control
• Strong foundational knowledge of operating systems, such as:
• Memory management
• Process and thread management
• File I/O & file systems
• System libraries & POSIX APIs
• Networking concepts and basic security principles
• Familiarity with commonly used data structures (Queues, Linked Lists, Hash Tables, Trees).
• Familiarity with standard algorithms (Searching, Sorting, Hashing).
• Proficient with C/C++ debugging tools (e.g., gdb, Valgrind, etc.).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with application performance optimization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with or supporting MultiValue databases.
• Background in database kernel development or low-level DB internals.
• A-related abilities, such as:
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor)
• Basic knowledge of machine learning or AI concepts is a plus
• Ability to evaluate or integrate AI-based tools into engineering processes
• Compiler systems experience, such as:
• Understanding of compiler architecture (lexing, parsing, semantic analysis, code generation)
• Experience with GCC/Clang toolchains or custom compiler components
• Exposure to build systems, linkers, or runtime environments
• Basic QA/Testing experience, including:
• Writing test cases
• Understanding automation frameworks
• Performing regression or functional testing
• Familiarity with additional programming languages or technologies such as:
• Python, Java
• protocols
• Client-server architecture
• RPC frameworks
• XML, JSON
• Knowledge of security concepts, including encryption, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience working in Cloud or virtualized environments (AWS, Azure, VMware, containers, etc.).
• Experience working in an Agile environment (JIRA and Confluence a plus).

The base salary range for this role is €32,000.00 - €54,400.00 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Salary offer for the candidate is determined based on the predefined salary ranges for the position and depends on the level of competence and experience of the candidate.
