Wilmington Public Schools – West Intermediate School Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts Position: .60 Full‑time PE/Health Teacher Job ID: 5794400 Starting Date: Aug 27, 2026 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Responsibilities Plan and implement the physical education and health curriculum for Grades 4‑5. Evaluate individual students using department‑developed assessment tools and maintain up‑to‑date records of student progress. Collaborate with the PreK‑12 physical education & health department to review, develop, and execute a rigorous district curriculum aligned to state standards, including development and facilitation of MARC and Human Growth and Development units. Create a positive, inviting, and safe learning environment while modeling enthusiasm for learning. Develop, model, and practice class procedures and routines. Modify instructional practices to meet individual student needs. Communicate high expectations to all learners and set realistic, consistent expectations for student behavior, applying appropriate consequences. Perform other duties assigned by the principal. Qualifications Current Massachusetts teacher licensure in Physical Education and Health/Family & Consumer Sciences. Knowledge of current best practices in physical education and health education. Understanding of scientifically based research and evidence‑based practices for teaching students and assessing progress toward achievement of standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Current CPR certification. At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Benefits This position is full‑time and offers a salary range of $57,271 to $109,685 per year.
