Respiratory Therapist - Full Time

Essential Duties The Respiratory Therapist 1 (RT‑1) is responsible for patients with respiratory and respiratory-related equipment. The RT‑1 assesses patient needs, selects, instructs, and troubleshoots appropriate equipment and/or services, and maintains documentation. RT‑1 employees are eligible for consideration to transition to RT‑2 after one year of employment based on performance. Responsibilities Receive and document orders for respiratory equipment and/or services from customers, patients, caregivers, physicians, or family members. Collect additional information and documentation needed from insurance or physician. Assess patient needs and determine the best choice of respiratory therapy or services. Instruct and educate patients, families, or caregivers on proper use and care of respiratory equipment. Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition or needs and adjust the patient’s Plan of Care as needed. Complete patient accounts paperwork including Plan of Care, treatment, and assessment documents. Act as liaison between SuperCare Health and patients, families, caregivers, and physicians. Assume full responsibility for professional skills, actions, and attitudes. Follow all policies and procedures outlined by JCAHO. Follow up visit for respiratory patients and assist in continuity of care as determined by policy and procedure. Provide 24‑hour on‑call service, seven days a week as scheduled. Set up respiratory equipment within the appointment/ETA given to ensure patient satisfaction. Provide services for marketing and other departments as necessary. Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when dealing with patients. Support SuperCare Health by informing the office of concerns and problems to be resolved. Understand and adhere to all company policies. Remain knowledgeable and up‑to‑date on all products. Maintain a professional, safe, and clean work environment. Education and/or Work Experience Graduate from an accredited RT Care Program (licensed RCP). Experience as a Respiratory Therapist. Thorough knowledge and skills related to the respiratory care field. Excellent customer service and communication skills. People‑sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others.
