Production Manager

Major Activities

- Drive a safety-first culture, promoting safe work
practices and actively identifying and addressing
risks.
Ensure Safety is the first priority in daily operations to
keep our team safe and healthy.
Identify problems that create risk and may flow on to
quality and productivity.
Demonstrate/document effective risk management as a
responsible employer.
- Lead daily operations across Fabrication, Coating
and Assembly teams. Manage the team, Facility
and Assets.
Ensure production goals can be met to satisfy customer
due dates and sales growth.
Ensure efficient manufacture of product to standard times
without minimal downtime and rework.
Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing
processes.
- Manage quality, uptime, and flow across all
production areas through effective training,
process controls and QC checks.
Instill team pride in what we build, impress the customer
with our build quality and finish.
Ensure products are manufactured consistently and to
specification.
Ensure team members are empowered to highlight
quality issues, prevent them moving through the process
and to help find the root cause. Identify actions and carry
them out.
Ensure new staff can be brought up to speed quickly to
add value.
- Actively identify production issues and resolve
these to achieve production targets.
Ensure we meet monthly build targets to limit the impact
on our customers through defects, delays and product
performance issues.
Create a world class production facility that identifies
opportunities, addresses risks and implements
countermeasures.
- Manage system processes and documentation to
ensure timely processing.
Allow effective tracking of key business information.
Ensure product is correctly costed and inventory is
accounted for in a timely manner.
Ensure quality documentation is stored correctly for
future reference.

4. MAJOR CHALLENGES
- Leading a team across a number of different disciplines to achieve key outcomes.
- Meeting production and customer service performance measures consistently under growing and seasonal
work load variations.
- Having a deep understanding of manufacturing procedures and their impact on safety and quality.
- Maintaining a high level of communication and professionalism with members of the Trimax family.
- Implementing improvements where new product and engineering workloads are high.
5. DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
a) Major decisions able to be made within your delegated authorities.
- Assigning/Re-deploying resources to achieve planned outcomes (people, inventory, plant).
- Identifying and implementing improvements within your delegated authority.
- Recruiting and selecting staff for approved roles.

b) Major actions and decisions which are recommended to a higher level of management for
approval.
- Adding to staff levels or commencing formal discipline of staff.
- Altering manufacturing procedures/standards or policies.
- Expenditure outside the delegated authority.
6. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years in a production leadership role (manufacturing or similar).
- Experience in mild steel fabrication and mechanical assembly, or similar fields.
- Demonstrated leadership in safety, quality, and team performance.
- Knowledgeable in lean manufacturing principles.
- Capable with ERP systems and data.
- Ability to carry out tasks in the facility - including lifting, maneuvering equipment and parts from time to time.
