Shift: 12-Hour days (7:00 AM 7:00 PM)

Hours/Week: 36 hours/week (4 days/week)

Employment Type: Contract / Travel RN

Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, CPI or MOAB

Experience: 2+ years recent ED RN experience; first-time travelers must have 2+ years perm staff ER experience

Hourly Rate: $50.25 per hour

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, from newborns to geriatrics
• Manage an average of 85-95 patient visits daily in a fast-paced ED setting
• Perform IV starts, continuous patient monitoring, and identify patient severity levels to guide care
• Collaborate with support staff including charge nurses, phlebotomists, RTs, and hospitalists
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety guidelines, including pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
• Support patient needs during high-acuity situations such as respiratory distress, trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and behavioral health crises

What You Need

Required:

• Valid state RN license in Louisiana
• 2+ years recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, CPI or MOAB certifications
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts, patient monitoring, and multitasking

Preferred:

• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and holidays as required
