Compliance Attorney

Role Overview

Apply your U.S. compliance law expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. This remote contract opportunity focuses on producing high-quality, real-world legal input that improves how AI models reason, respond, and perform. AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, review, and annotate legal documents and compliance materials for AI system development.
• Draft detailed explanations, rationales, and responses to complex compliance scenarios for machine-learning datasets.
• Evaluate AI-generated legal content for accuracy, logic, and alignment with U.S. compliance standards.
• Work remotely with project leads and technical specialists on nuanced compliance and regulatory questions.
• Create scenario-based questions and answers reflecting current compliance-law trends and challenges.
• Identify ambiguities and legal risks in AI outputs, then recommend improvements for clarity and precision.
• Provide feedback that supports ongoing refinement of AI training processes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school and an active attorney license in good standing.
• 3 to 10+ years of recent, substantive compliance-law practice experience in the United States.
• Currently practicing compliance law and based in the United States.
• Expertise in compliance law, legal-document analysis, legal writing, regulatory research, and U.S. law.
• Strong attention to detail, critical-thinking ability, written and verbal communication, and remote collaboration skills.
• Judicial clerkship experience is preferred.
• Experience teaching law courses or legal writing at an accredited law school is a plus.
• Legal-journal editorial experience during law school is highly valued.

Work Terms

• Remote, contract engagement available only to U.S.-based attorneys.
• Compensation is output-based, with payment for tasks that meet project specifications. Completion time may vary based on experience and workflow.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a required minimum number of task submissions each week.
• Roles are generally filled within 48 hours. Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.

Compensation

$100 to $170 per hour.
