Organization Psychiatry - Psychology Job Summary Administers psychological tests to patients with some guidance. Scores, records, and interprets test results, administers all activities of the testing service. Patients are from pre‑school age through adulthood. New graduates are especially encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Administers and scores personality, intelligence, aptitude, achievement, and other psychological and neuropsychological tests. Gives paper and pencil tests or utilizes neuropsychological instruments that assess memory, learning, problem‑solving ability, speed, strength, coordination, hearing, touch and/or vision. Assists with research studies, including giving tests to patients, tabulating and entering results in the computer. Assists in training psychology interns and practicum students in psychological and/or neuropsychological examinations. Performs additional duties as assigned as part of a general overview of the position. Education and Training 1a) Master’s degree in psychology, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university (degree may be pending, but candidate must have completed a minimum of one academic year of graduate training totaling at least 33 graduate semester hours). Completion of necessary coursework required for the Tennessee CPA, including a minimum of 6 graduate semester hours in various aspects of psychological testing. Completion of a supervised practicum in psychological assessment totaling a minimum of 300 clinical hours and carrying a minimum of 3 semester hours of graduate credit. 1b) Candidate may be a student in a doctoral program in psychology who has completed at least one academic year of graduate training totaling a minimum of 33 graduate semester hours. Technical Capabilities Observation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of observation in practical applications of a difficult nature; capable of delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others; can train and educate by setting an example, giving instruction, and providing leadership. Test Scoring (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of test scoring in practical applications of a difficult nature; capable of delivering results independently; can train and educate by setting an example, giving instruction, and providing leadership. Position Qualifications Certifications: Certified Psychological Testing Technician – Tennessee Board of Examiners of Psychology; Certified Psychology Assistant – Tennessee Board of Examiners of Psychology. Experience Level: Less than 1 year. Education: Bachelor’s (required), Master’s (preferred).
