Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Lead Software Architect / Principal .NET Engineer to support Bank of America's Developer Experience (DevEx) organization within Global Technology. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving the design, architecture, and modernization of enterprise applications that support critical business initiatives across the bank.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on technical expertise with strategic architectural leadership and has a proven track record of leading large-scale enterprise transformation efforts in complex environments. This role requires a strong background in .NET application development, AI/LLM integrations, enterprise architecture, and modern software engineering practices.

The successful candidate will define architecture standards, guide engineering teams, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive modernization initiatives that improve the developer experience and accelerate engineering productivity across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and modernization of enterprise applications and platforms.

• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions using modern .NET technologies.

• Drive adoption of AI and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies within enterprise applications and developer tooling.

• Establish architecture principles, engineering standards, and best practices across development teams.

• Partner with Product Owners, Engineering Leaders, and business stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and solution strategies.

• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Guide development teams through cloud-native application design, modernization, and migration initiatives.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve developer productivity and business outcomes.

• Drive application modernization efforts, including legacy application remediation and platform transformation initiatives.

• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, governance, and compliance standards.

• Mentor engineers and serve as a technical leader across multiple development teams.

Skills and Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on .NET development and architecture.

• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.

• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core/.NET 8+, ASP.NET, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.

• Experience integrating or developing solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, or similar AI technologies.

• Proven experience leading enterprise application modernization and transformation initiatives.

• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and engineering best practices.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• Experience building scalable and secure enterprise applications.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders.

• Experience leading architectural decision-making across multiple teams and initiatives. • Experience supporting Developer Experience (DevEx), Platform Engineering, or Engineering Productivity initiatives.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Financial Services or Banking industry experience.

• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted development tools, and developer workflow automation.

Experience with enterprise governance, risk, compliance, and security frameworks.
