Why Work at Regis?Job Summary:This part-time nursing faculty is a member of the University who has been appointed to one of four academic ranks: Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Teaching workload includes ongoing responsibility for curriculum development and planning, teaching, guiding, monitoring, and evaluating student learning in the classroom, skills / simulation laboratory, clinical agencies, and service learning. Teaching may be in the classroom, online, or by synchronous distant learning.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Teaching: Classroom, online, synchronous platformsCurriculum planning and evaluationEvaluation of student learning (grading, coaching, mentoring, evaluating)Course planning with teaching team to include teaching strategies (lecture, flipped classroom, case studies), tests, competenciesLaboratory and clinical planning, supervision, evaluation, and oversightStudent academic advising, to include study skills, testing strategies, course planningClinical Supervision, including student and preceptor meetings, evaluation of assignments, community team buildingScholarshipBoyer’s model of scholarship: Teaching, Discovery, Integration, ApplicationDevelopment and dissemination of nursing knowledge (posters, presentations, publication)Ongoing personal and professional education and developmentService to institution, profession, communityClinical/Professional practiceService learning activities with studentsParticipation in school, college, and university committees and task forcesParticipation in recruitment and retention activities at the school, college, and university levelService to the profession at local, state, or national levelWorking Conditions:Ranked faculty are hired on variable FTE Faculty Contract. Holiday and leave vary according to FTE. All leave (unpaid, professional, and service) is planned with the School in order to ensure effective year-round operation of the School’s nursing education programs.Workplace settings include classroom, office, skills and simulation laboratories, clinical settings, and community settings, including indoor and outdoor areas.QualificationsEducationA graduate degree in Nursing, Doctoral degree in nursing preferredLicenses or CertificationsAn active license in good standing to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado. Effective July 1, 2007, an active license in good standing includes registered nurses practicing pursuant to the terms and condition of the nurse licensure compact and the requirements set for in the state of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Registration, Board of Nursing, Chapter II Rules and Regulations for Approval of Nursing Education Programs.Nurse Practitioners must be board certified in the appropriate specialty and hold a Colorado APRN license.Nurse Practitioners engaged in faculty practice must have a Colorado APRN license and prescriptive authority for the designated population foci.ExperienceA minimum of two years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience required.Documented knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development and evaluation preferred.Special knowledge, skills, abilitiesKnowledge of the art and science of nursing and the essentials of baccalaureate, masters-level, and doctoral nursing educationKnowledge of leadership and team buildingAbility to teach using a variety of modalitiesAbility to develop and/or modify course structure and content for given student populations and learning environmentsAbility to use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Web-browser, personal information management software, advising, and information management softwareAble to work to deadlineOutstanding oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated organizational skillsProject planning and priority setting capabilitiesSpecial Instructions to Applicants:Please submit your CV, cover letter and list of references with your application.
