Job Title

Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care (PACU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Onsite | Shift varies: 6a–6p, 8a–8p, and 9a–9p

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in a fast-paced PACU setting
• Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio, delivering attentive, high-quality nursing care throughout the recovery process
• Monitor and assess patients emerging from anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using the EPIC EMR system
• Float as needed to a different PACU unit serving the same patient population

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Maine or compact license eligibility
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in PACU or pre/post-anesthesia care
• Demonstrated experience with pre-operative and PACU patient care
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Ability to work variable shift times (6a–6p, 8a–8p, or 9a–9p) as scheduled

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for a diverse surgical patient population
• Comfort with float assignments within the same patient population and care setting
• Strong adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-acuity environment
