Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

The FP&A Manager - Industry is responsible for establishing and leading all financial operations for industries, ensuring robust accounting practices, cost transparency, and financial discipline. This role oversees industrial accounting, financial reporting, and close processes while maintaining strict compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Build and oversee all Industries-level accounting functions from the ground up — general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliations, and cost tracking. Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, delivering accurate and timely financial statements for industrial operations. Ensure full compliance with GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and internal financial controls from day one. Consolidation & Group Reporting Develop, manage, and challenge the Industry annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range cost projections. Drive capital expenditure analysis and support planning for equipment investments and facility expansion. Audit & Compliance Champion inventory integrity through cycle count programs, physical inventory audits, and reconciliation processes. Lead and support internal and external audits, maintaining impeccable financial documentation. Leadership & Team Development Partner directly with Industries leadership, manufacturing, quality, engineering, purchasing, and supply chain to serve as a true financial business partner — not just a reporter of results. Build trust with all operations, and senior leadership through candor, competence, and follow-through. Process Improvement Own industries cost accounting — labor, materials, and overhead — and drive variance analysis to surface insights that improve operational performance. Monitor and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs), translating data into actionable recommendations for the Industries leadership team. Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives that enhance Industry profitability and efficiency. CPA required - your technical foundation is non-negotiable; MBA is an additional plus. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance in a manufacturing context. 5–7 years of progressive experience combining public accounting (audit) and manufacturing or industrial industry roles. Public accounting experience may be from a Big 4, national, or well-regarded regional firm. Deep expertise in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, and financial reporting in a regulated environment. Proven ability to build and influence — this role requires someone who can lead without a large team behind them initially. Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing is a strong plus.
