Locums | Gastroenterology | Marquette, MI (MI license required) Why This Role

• Well-established, highly accomplished endo unit team
• Modern setup: 4 procedure rooms, Olympus scopes, propofol, capsule endoscopy, hydrogen breath testing
• No admissions — hospitalists admit
• Defined block coverage with set dates
Assignment Details
• Dates (full block coverage required, no partial):
- 6/11 orientation, 6/12 (7a) - 6/15 (7a) - 12/11 (7a) - 12/14 (7a)
• Schedule: Mon-Fri 9-hour shift (8 billable, 1hr lunch) + 15-hour overnight call; weekend call 24 hours
• On call for the entire assignment
• Call: Beeper, 20-minute response, 2-4 phone consults
• Volume: up to 12 patients/day for procedures
• Setting: Outpatient + inpatient, Level 2 trauma
• EMR: Cerner, gGastro, Athena
• Credentialing: ~60 days (immediate turnaround needed on application/billing packet)
• No scribe — provider responsible for all charting, pathology review, and patient result/follow-up communication
Clinical Details
• Required: upper and lower GI endoscopy, EGD, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible/rigid), ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic), EUS, PEG/PEG-J placement, esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation, small bowel biopsy, pH studies
• Preferred: liver biopsy, Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management
Requirements
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active MI license
• ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS
• Full availability for all listed dates (partial availability not considered)
Compensation
• Rates negotiable, open to your number
