The unit consists of 55 beds. The patient ratio is 1:4. Weekend work is required as needed. Floating to like units may be expected based on facility needs. Travelers will receive brief orientation on the unit. Candidates must have experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry. Additional skills include central line care, chest tube management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with cardiac drips and PCA management is essential. The patient population primarily includes adults and geriatrics. Daily census averages around 38 patients. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Common patient diagnoses include congestive heart failure and cardiovascular-related conditions. Administrative tasks may include monitoring telemetry and wound care. Candidates should have experience in both pre and post cardiac procedures. This position requires strong critical thinking and patient management skills.
