Distribution Material Handling Specialist

Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is adding reliable talent to a high-volume distribution team. If you like hands-on work, learning new equipment, and keeping products moving, this role pays $17.00 per hour and offers full-time hours.

A Day in the Life

You’ll keep the flow of goods steady from dock to shipment:

Receive and unload large boxes and products at the dock
Scan items with an RF scanner and enter details into a computer system
Break down cases and stage products for distribution
Replenish inventory using material handling equipment
Pick both large-case and small-unit items using a voice-directed picking system
Place picked goods on carts or pallets; palletize, wrap skids, and prepare outbound shipments
Pack smaller items into boxes for shipment
Operate warehouse equipment as required

Equipment You’ll Use

Forklift
Reach truck
Order picker / cherry picker
Turret truck
Pallet jack
Walkie rider

What You’ll Bring

Comfort in a fast-paced warehouse/distribution environment ; able to meet productivity standards
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and with a team
Clear verbal communication skills
Capable of consistently lifting up to 50 lbs.
Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and lift for 8+ hours
Ability to work safely at heights up to 25 feet
Willingness to work overtime, sometimes with limited notice
Basic warehouse/material handling/packaging skills
Readiness to learn and operate different types of material handling equipment
Flexibility to rotate among different warehouse areas

Preferred Experience

Previous warehouse or material handler experience
Forklift or other material handling equipment experience
Experience using RF scanners
Experience with voice-directed picking systems
High school diploma or GED (preferred)
