FULL-TIME FAMILY ASSISTANT: 2 sweet girls in Saybrook, CT

Overview A family with two girls, aged 6 and 3.5, in Saybrook, CT, is seeking a Family Assistant to join them. Their desired start date is in August, but for the right fit, they are flexible. Mom and Dad have busy jobs and are looking for a candidate who can keep their home and the lives of the girls on track. The girls are incredibly sweet and creative. They'll both be in school this Fall, leaving the middle of the day devoted to household tasks.They're offering $30 to $35/hour, on the books (no exceptions), PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and a generous healthcare stipend. The family does have two cats.Candidates will need to have their own reliable vehicle that can be used to pick-up and drop-off the girls. The family will pay for mileage at the federal rate. The Ideal Candidate for this Job Above all else, the family is looking for a candidate who connects well with the girls. Beyond that, they're looking for organized candidates with a team-player outlook who have at least 3 to 5 years of nannying experience or a combination of in-home and other childcare experience. This is a great opportunity for aspiring household managers or nannies who are looking to transition into family assisting or personal assisting work. The family is looking for warm, creative, and kind candidates who align with their parenting philosophy. They create loving but firm boundaries for their girls and do not use negative discipline methods. They're looking to meet candidates who have a professional appearance and a reliable vehicle for school pick-ups and drop-offs (they will reimburse mileage). Candidates should have two to three professional childcare references that can be called, be fully vaccinated, and willing to get an annual flu shot. Schedule Tuesday: 3PM to 7PMWednesday, Thursday, Friday: 7 AM to 7 PM+1 to 2 Saturdays in a 6-week period: 7AM to 7PM (on those weeks where the Family Assistant works on Saturdays, their Wednesday schedule shifts to 3PM to 7PM). About the Children 6-year-old girl: She is super into coloring, singing, and dancing, and parades around the house. She enjoys make-believe and dress-up. Her sister loves to follow her. She'll be starting 1st grade in the fall.3.5-year-old girl: She's hilarious! She’s also strong-willed (like most 3-year-olds!). She doesn’t yet quite have a strong sense of bodily safety - she’s a real risk taker. She’s very sweet. She likes being around older kids because of her older sister.They will both go to a private school in Madison in the fall, about a 20 minute drive away. Responsibilities A typical day will look like arriving in the morning, getting them both ready for school, breakfast, drop-off and then returning home for household tasks. Those might include changing the girls' bedding, going through closets to look for old clothes, loading/unloading the dishwasher, food prep, making a recipe (baking or cooking). You will also prepare the girls' lunches for the following days. There may also be some grocery shopping needed. The family would also like you to take them to doctor's and dentist appointments as needed. In the afternoon, you'll pick both of the girls up from school, bring them home and then it's dinner and getting ready for bed! Additional Information This position is paid on the books, no exceptions. The family has two cats in the home. They are looking for a non-smoker (even outside of work hours). Candidates should have their own vehicle and ideally would be comfortable commuting with the girls to and from school.
