Data Center Technician

Overview A large Data Center in Cheyenne, WY is hiring multiple Data Center Technicians for a long-term opportunity. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain data center hardware, including servers, racks, network equipment, and power distribution units (PDUs). Manage cable infrastructure, including structured cabling and fiber optic systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Conduct equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Collaborate with network and system engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware with the data center environment. Perform routine inspections to verify environmental and equipment health, including cooling systems and backup power solutions. Plan and oversee the installation of external infrastructure such as conduits, cables, poles, and related facilities. Ensure proper routing and termination of fiber optic and copper cables for connections between buildings or to external network providers. Inspect and maintain outside plant infrastructure to mitigate risks of damage and ensure long-term reliability. Qualifications 1-3+ years of prior IT related experience, with Data Center/Cabling experience being a plus but not required. Knowledge of structured cabling standards and fiber optic technologies. Familiarity with environmental systems such as HVAC, electrical backup systems, and fire suppression systems. Low voltage experience is a big plus but not required. Prefer cabling experience (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs, etc.) but not required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to submit to a driving record check, background check, and drug screen. Job Details Pay range: $23.00 - $30.00/hr. This is a contract position based out of Fort Collins, CO.
