Parks Assistant Clerk Hire

The Jefferson County Public Works Department, Parks & Recreation Division is seeking a Parks Assistant to support the care and upkeep of 22 County parks and campgrounds, including HJ Carroll Park, Memorial Field, Gibbs Lake, Indian Island, North Beach, and Lake Leland. This position works outdoors in all weather conditions and involves traveling throughout East Jefferson County performing general park maintenance, including mowing, landscaping, custodial work, athletic field prep, tree work, repairs, and improvement projects. The role requires safe operation of small tractors, power equipment, and hand tools, along with strong communication and teamwork skills when working with park users and the public. This is a Clerk Hire position working a maximum of 69 hours per month. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed in the Job Description are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience Applicants must possess a high school diploma/GED and possess a valid WA State Driver License, and have the ability to obtain a basic First Aid card and CPR certification. Compensation This is a part-time Clerk Hire position that works up to 69 hours per month. $21.00 per hour. This position has no benefits, except sick leave. This position earns one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. May include weekend hours. Workweek Facility is operated Monday – Saturday.
