Commodities Quantitative & Commercial Advisory – Senior Manager Location: Houston | Other locations: Anywhere in Region | Date: May 1, 2026 | Requisition ID: 1695387 Overview The Quantitative and Commodities Center (QCC) is part of EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice. It provides specialized advisory services to companies with commodity operations and exposure, including procurement, power & fuel supply, marketing, trading, risk management and more. The QCC team has deep industry knowledge, technical quantitative skills, and relevant project experience. We assist clients with analytical support on complex commodity risk topics such as hedging, trading, procurement optimization, market risk management, reporting tools, and complex contract modeling across energy, environmental, agriculture, metals, and soft commodities. Opportunity The QCC team has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Manager. You will lead projects, manage project metrics, resourcing, billing, and economics, provide direction to junior team members across a range of commodities and commercial projects, and maintain relationships with senior client leadership and EY peers. You will bring technical insight into quantitative and commercial commodity topics, develop and manage business development activities, build relationships within EY, and foster an innovative and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities This role requires a combination of technical, financial, commercial, and quantitative knowledge, along with strong communication and presentation skills. You will apply quantitative techniques to value complex commodity contracts and present technical topics to non-technical audiences. Use a commercial industry perspective to advise clients on advanced practices, typical industry approaches, and market behavior. Lead development of quantitative financial models for commodity and financial contracts, implementing market factor simulation techniques and stochastic / numerical methods. Use and enhance proprietary valuation models, selecting appropriate inputs and techniques. Develop and maintain long‑term client relationships and networks. Serve as a subject‑matter expert across EY teams. Present internally and externally to senior leadership, enhancing the EY brand through speaking seminars and other presentation opportunities. Mentor and coach junior consultants and support their career progression. Deliver client reports describing work performed, considerations, recommendations, and outcomes. Problem‑solve under uncertainty, adapting approaches and analytics to new commodity, financial, and renewables markets and client objectives. Work both independently and as part of a team with an adaptive, flexible approach to new problems. Demonstrate in‑depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge, quickly assimilating new knowledge. Possess business acumen, staying current on new developments in advisory services and industry knowledge. Manage a book of business to grow the team and your career. Requirements A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as quantitative finance, mathematics, statistics, financial engineering, engineering, or economics and econometrics. Eight or more years of related work experience, including at least four years of people and/or project management experience. Strong knowledge in Python or R programming and strong Microsoft Excel skills. Strong knowledge of derivatives pricing models and computational finance, including commodity market factor simulation techniques/methods. Experience and a continuing strong interest in financial and commodity markets and related financial instruments. Ability to work within a given budget and schedule, producing results in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders. Strong work ethic, communication skills, and a flexible, positive, solution‑oriented mindset. Willingness to travel occasionally. Already possess or be able to complete an approved certification within two years of hiring. What we offer We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that rewards performance and recognizes the value brought to the business. The base salary range for this position in all U.S. geographic locations is $146,700 to $335,100. For the New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento), the base salary range is $176,000 to $380,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined by education, experience, qualifications, and geography.
