Buyer

The Junior Buyer supports procurement functions. The role contributes to efficient sourcing and purchasing of MRO, packaging, and other materials, helping drive cost-effective resource management. By managing purchasing processes and supporting strategic initiatives, this role is essential to maintaining operational excellence across the site. Oversees all MRO purchasing processes for the San Diego site, including managing quotes, bid waivers, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Responsibilities also include placing purchase orders for capital expenditures, supporting the reconciliation of goods receipts with invoices, and actively participating in daily planning meetings. Monitors supplier performance, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery. Proactively identifies alternate sources to enhance supply chain resilience and expedites orders to mitigate delays. Vendor reports are regularly reviewed to ensure order fulfillment and to address any discrepancies. Collaborates closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to support product launches and execution plans. Additionally, works with the Supply Chain team to ensure accuracy in packaging cycle counts.

Additional Skills

5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience. Strong SAP ERP & MRP experience required. Experience with purchase orders, vendor management, RFQs, and supplier coordination. Advanced Excel skills preferred. Manufacturing and MRO purchasing experience highly desired.
