You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.Department: ServicesReports To: VP of Strategy and Business DevelopmentJob SummaryThe Network Engineer works as part of a professional services team responsible for providing proactive IT infrastructure support and operations management across multiple IT infrastructure platforms (on-premise, private cloud, public cloud).The role of the professional services team is to develop standards, best practices and deliver common IT operations management tasks consistently across a diverse client base, ensuring high quality service delivery and superior IT operations management for our clients.The Network Engineer is a specialist in the network domain and has a broad, general knowledge of the systems domain.The Network Engineer is the internal SME for technical tools, services and technologies and strives to automate manual work wherever possible within the service delivery areas. The Sr. Network Engineer must balance confidentiality, integrity and availability.Essential Functions:Provide technical specifications for a quote or proposal and prepare accompanying material such as SoW.Act as SME to assist in interpreting customer requirements; speak with customers or prospects to understand their needs and communicate this information to the Account Executive.Network Management & Security:Administer Network and Security devices (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, etc.)Work with internal teams to design, troubleshoot, and implement network designsPerform hardware replacements & software upgrades (Firmware, IOS updates, patches, blacklist IPs, etc.)Maintain network documentation for all clients along with monitoring and alertingResponsible for network performance management, tuning and capacity planningOther duties as assignedImplementing and managing MFA solutionsVoIP Phone System Management:Manage and maintain Cisco Webex and Call Manager VoIP phone systemsPerform VoIP phone systems patching and upgradesTools and Automation:Setup, configuration and management of network monitoring and alertingDevelop automation routines and scripts to streamline tasks (patching, reporting, configuration changes)Develop automated reports to provide metrics to other teamsResearch and strive to further improve existing automation where possible.Documentation & Standardization:Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or playbook for basic operation of each facet of the network infrastructureMaintain Documentation for network management tools and servicesMaintain change management recordsOperational and On-Call Duties:Ensure device configuration are up to date and accurate within inventory softwareComplete daily, weekly, monthly infrastructure maintenanceMonitor ticketing system to ensure issues are addressed and provide follow-through with customer until resolvedSchedule and manage planned maintenance windowsDevelop Subject Matter Expertise in network management and operational best practices.Participate in the "After Hours On-Call Support" rotationWorks off-shift, nights, holidays and weekends as needed to support problem resolution or infrastructure upgradesOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:BS in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or other Information Technology discipline or equivalent in experienceCCNA CertificationMinimum of 3 years' experience in network management, TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, BGP), Routing and SwitchingCustomer Service oriented, detail-focused, and ability to work under stressful situationsExcellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with customers, support staff, sales team, vendors and peers.Excellent organizational skills with ability to team with others to develop and deploy projects and solutions.Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances for our clients (if needed)Successful background checkHold a valid drivers' license and be able to commute to client locationsPreferred Qualifications:Experience managing Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, or other enterprise network devicesAdvanced certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higherExperience with VoIP solutions (Cisco Webex, Cisco Call Manager, etc.)Experience with network monitoring toolsExperience with NextGen Firewalls (NGFW)Experience with Cisco FirepowerCertification(s):CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) preferredFortinet Certified Professional (FCP) preferredEducation:BS in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or other Information Technology discipline or equivalent in experience
