Provide specialized speech and language therapy services to patients in acute care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing facilities. Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing functions. Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities to determine therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and dysphagia issues.
- Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) independently, utilizing appropriate equipment.
- Document patient progress accurately using EMR systems, including Meditech, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and refine therapy approaches.
- Provide education and training to patients and families regarding communication strategies and swallowing management.
- Hold active Hawaii licensure for Speech-Language Pathology.
- Possess BLS certification.
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in acute care, SNF, or rehab hospital settings.
- Demonstrate proficiency in completing Modified Barium Swallow Studies without supervision.
- Exhibit ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment and adapt to unit or department needs.
