Finished Goods Packer The finished goods packing employee is a critical component of the company's success and works in a hands-on capacity with the finished product to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. These employees' work directly with the line supervisor and related employees to ensure product quality and customer expectations are met. Position reports to: Line Supervisor Job type: Full Time Essential job functions: Responsible to properly count, fill, and weigh all finished product cases to ensure the correct count and/or weight Ensure that the work area is always maintained in a clean and safe manner Complete all paperwork legibly and accurately Notify the supervisor and/or maintenance in the event of a breakdown or mechanical issue Follow all cGMP's and HACCP procedures Assist with the set up and/or breakdown of production equipment when required by supervision Report all pertinent information to the supervisor or plant manager and perform additional duties that may be assigned by management Skills required for this position: Ability to understand procedures and policies Work as a team in a fast-paced environment Quality oriented and minded Work with little supervision when required Ability to read scales and metal detector Ability to perform basic math Experience: Preferred food plant production experience, but not required High School Diploma or equivalent Working relationships: Direct interaction with line supervisor for direction and to keep them informed of opportunities that are discovered while performing the packing duties. Work environment: Generally, can be physically demanding in nature and may require standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing balancing, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Work requires ability to work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail. Work will require, regularly, the need to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Work may require the use of tools or equipment that requires a high degree of dexterity. Work may require the use of close, distance, color and peripheral vision. It may also require depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus. Work may involve working around moving conveyors and mechanical parts. Work area may be wet and/or humid as part of normal operations. Work area temperatures may range from 0F to 100F.
