RN - Evening/Weekend Care

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated RN - Evening/Weekend Care to join the Empath team. The RN provides compassionate hospice care to patients with terminal illnesses and supports their families by assessing needs, coordinating care, managing symptoms, and providing education. Schedule: 40 hours a week, two weekday shifts: 4:30 PM - 12:30 AM; Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM. South Pinellas

What You'll Do

• Under physician's orders, the nurse is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventative and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer, monitor and document medications as prescribed by attending physician.
• Following a patient's death, assists with closure contact and support in collaboration with IDT.

What You'll Need

• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
• Valid Florida State Driver's License
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting
• Preferred experience caring for terminal patients and others with life threatening illnesses.
• For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee's HR file.
