Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. If you have a passion for working with heavy machinery and a knack for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, this is the perfect opportunity for you. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate at peak performance. Experience with refrigeration units (reefer systems) is a strong plus. Join us in keeping our fleet running smoothly and efficiently!
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment, including refrigeration (reefer) systems when applicable.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they become major issues.
- Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a focus on heavy-duty vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems.
- Familiarity with refrigeration (reefer) units and systems is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
