Blood Collections Team Lead (Per Diem)

Job Description Per diem role only (not benefits eligible). The position supports mobile operations of the American Red Cross and requires prior Red Cross experience. Key Responsibilities Lead the team and drive results through excellent customer service. Model professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation’s largest not-for-profit blood banking organization. Work as a lead/charge at blood drives when instructed and conduct phlebotomy. Work independently with attention to detail and knowledge of daily operations to ensure the blood the team collects meets regulatory requirements. Schedule Standard schedule (Albany, New York) Variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays to best meet the needs of donors and the community. 5 hours per week. Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance and is on a per diem basis as needed. Pay Information Starting rate $23.53 per hour. Minimum Qualifications Prior Red Cross experience in a related field and position, with documented satisfactory performance in the previous position. Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience (18 months to four years of work experience in a related field). Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in environments with public interaction. Customer service experience with effective verbal communication and public relations skills. A current valid driver’s license and good driving record may be required. Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, and the ability to adapt to irregular hours and frequent schedule changes. Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to operate Red Cross vehicles safely. All staff work as a team to set up and tear down mobile blood drive equipment at businesses, schools, and other locations. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
