Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Title: Metal Coil Line Operator (3rd Shift) This role involves operating a metal coil processing line, including loading metal coils with a hi-lo, feeding coils into the machine, and ensuring that finished coils meet customer specifications. You will work in a hands-on, physical manufacturing environment with large metal coils and bins, and over time you will learn to use the computer system to pull orders and run the line independently. Responsibilities Load metal coils onto the production line using a hi-lo in a safe and controlled manner. Feed metal coils into the processing line according to established procedures. Monitor the machine as it trims metal coils to customer specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Remove trimmed metal coils from the line and handle them safely using appropriate equipment. Inspect finished coils for quality, verifying that they meet required gauge, material, and dimensional specifications. Tag and label coils accurately based on gauge, material, and customer requirements. Push, pull, and maneuver bins of metal products as part of daily production activities. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and productivity. Follow all safety procedures when working around hi-lo equipment, metal coils, and moving machinery. Learn to pull up and review orders on the computer system to run the line independently. Adjust work pace and methods as needed to meet production goals and quality standards. Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail. Support overtime, weekend, and holiday production needs as required by the operation. Essential Skills At least 3 recent years of machine operation experience that includes set up, or a experience in welding and fabrication, or a mechanical skils. Proficiency operating a hi-lo or similar material handling equipment to move and load metal coils. Ability to perform physical work, including pushing and pulling heavy bins and handling large metal coils. Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with loud noise and frequent hi-lo traffic. Willingness and ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks. Flexibility to work different shifts and be available for overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to achieve at least a 70% score on the Bennett Mechanical test. Possession of a valid driver’s license. Basic mechanical aptitude to understand how the coil processing line operates. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with metal products in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Familiarity with loading and unloading materials using hi-lo equipment. Experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical repair that supports troubleshooting and setup. Comfort using a computer to pull up and review production orders. Strong attention to detail when inspecting and tagging materials. Reliable attendance and punctuality to qualify for regular performance-based raises. Ability to adapt to working on an off-shift schedule, including 3rd shift. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility that processes metal products. The role is physically demanding, requiring regular pushing, pulling, and maneuvering of bins and materials throughout the shift. The position is on an off shift, including 3rd shift, and you must be prepared to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support production demands.
