Criminal Investigator

Investigator PositionThe City of New Orleans is seeking an Investigator for the Office of Inspector General. This position involves developing investigative cases, conducting field investigations, interviewing subjects, performing covert surveillance, and reporting results. The Investigator will also handle and transport documents and evidence, draft subpoena and summons requests, and give testimony before administrative hearings and in the courtroom when required.Salary: $84,062.00 AnnuallyLocation: 1340 Poydras Street, Suite 900, New Orleans, LAMinimum Qualifications:Either permanent status with the City of New Orleans as a Criminal Investigator III and one year of experience in that classification, or a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, criminal justice, social science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or five years of criminal justice or law enforcement experience, or a valid driver's license. Note: Candidates will be required to use their personal vehicles for work.Kind of Examination: A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten years. This is an original entrance and promotional examination.
